Pacing Iniquity

The slanted thought
Journeyed in detour
Bent on a crooked walk

Two feet turn four
Doubled down fear
Shadow calling the score

Broken eyes tear
Dissolving mirth
Visions twist into leer

The walking dead pacing iniquity

Vanities girth
Shell sits in wrought
Duality strips worth

Aimless distraught
Steps coast in veer
Runaway train of thought

Swelling the queer
Biting the lure
Twisted head stares in rear

  1. You invent some fascinating forms, CRose. This one is very mesmeric and lulling, despite a not very soft theme–the first stanza is condensed and amazing, and it really never lets up. Excellent work here.

  2. Fine bit of rhythm to this poetic journey…and a nice form you’ve crafted there! Always impressed with what you come up with – and with this one, your language and your execution is as beautiful as ever – with that middle line standing as the perfect example of its power. Fine work!

  3. You have taken some strong internal thoughts and written them in a nice form..Bit of free verse here and that middle line, “The walking dead pacing iniquity” is like a hammer.. telling the reader, “Hear this..Now”

    well done..
