Spoken Word poetry by C Rose combined with the work and efforts of other artists.

Transitions

It amazes me we have hit 2016! Welcome to the new year my friends, I am grateful to be enjoying the possibilities with you. It is my tradition to take time at the beginning of the year to examine my creative work and ensure I am positioned to maximize my energy and voice. In result today I am thrilled to announce my poetry blog The World Poetized, started in 2011, will now be consolidated into my site at www.careyroseoconnell.com.

Every-death-is-the-birth

I am fortunate to have found versatility through my creative expression and this merger will allow for better delivery to all those that spend time with my worlds. Bringing my blog here also allows me to begin to share words and vision for other channels of my work. To honor my path of words to this moment I will be re-posting some of my favorites from The World Poetized here, each with a bit of the background behind the poem and its creation in a series titled The Poets Cut.

I am aware by letting go of my original blog I release 5 years of hard earned readers via WordPress and I want to take a moment to thank everyone that has taken time with my expression and hope you will continue to follow me here or on social media to keep our connection going. I also want to thank the people of WordPress.com for such a easy to use service. It was very helpful to have such an integrative tool as a newly sprouting poet in today’s digital medium.

Everything is flux, everything is impermanent and creativity commands change and so I bid the old adieu and welcome in the new, everly grateful for both.

Always in words
Carey Rose

The Evocateur

running tongues
along edges of time
I taste the language
of souls and consume
the words into rhyme

I sing in star spittle
dusting eyes
with shooting hearts
leaving heads in arms
of sight opened wide

nameless evocateur
purposed destroyer
severing binds
culling threads
tying together
the universal web

I dance atop
candle wicks
melting waxen form
into liquid pour

singeing skins
of skepticism
baring au courant
flesh of spirits born

nameless evocateur
purposed destroyer
severing binds
culling threads
tying together
the universal web

I run butterflied
through the field
of blooming dreams
a tear fallen dew
washing away disbeliefs

filling inside out
and downside up
auspex of light
silver lining shadows
as new constellations
in the starry above

nameless evocateur
purposed destroyer
severing binds
culling threads
tying together
the universal web

The Feaster

I improved my vision
when I allowed my soul
to use my eyes

I rose into collective wisdom
when I allowed my selves
to come forward and materialize

I am the individuality of five
helically wrapped into the
hologram of one

I speak the voices exhaled
by the stones and translate
the songs of the sun

I am the feaster

I breathe energy
and eat rising fear

I am the feaster

I bleed synergy
and drink falling tears

I am the feaster

I walk in spirals
and die with each step

I am the feaster

I love in sacral
and translate our next

I am the feaster

Turns

turn through faces until you see soul
kiss the glyphs of temple tongues
pulling apart skeleton key wishbones

turn through faces until you see soul
open locked calls casting signature tones
dancing past each with seed honey steps

turn through faces until you see soul
wade the mellifluous filling of land mind clefts
connecting this, that and the latter rungs

turn through faces until you see soul
pass the time where the masks are hung
paving road rhymes with clay feet stones

turn through faces until you see soul
paint into shadow corners of eyes unshone
dilating outlines in the shape of we in met

turn through faces until you see soul
pull in heartstring rays and cajole the sun’s unset
weaving the fray into lyrics of the unsung

turn through faces until you see soul
walk back into the forward and grow young
carrying pocketfuls of field picked homes

turn through faces until you see soul
